Crystal Save Points

Manual saves at glowing crystals. Resting heals you and respawns everything. Saving does not.

There are no checkpoints. If you die between crystals you go back to the last one you touched, which in the demo can mean several minutes of the same corridor. That is a deliberate cost and it changes how you play the crypt: you clear, you bank, you go deeper.

The split between saving and resting is the good idea here. Resting is the full heal and the status cure, and it comes with every enemy in the area coming back. Saving writes your progress and leaves the room as you left it. So you can bank a run without undoing your clear, which quietly removes the worst habit of the genre, the pointless re-clear before a save.

Death handling is generous in one specific way: your dropped loot is retrievable rather than gone, which turns a bad pull into a detour instead of a loss.
