The shipwreck shore of Cassus Vicus, wet flagstones running toward a collapsed tower
Landing zone

Cassus Vicus

The wreck-strewn shore where the game begins, and the only place in the demo that is genuinely safe.

You do not arrive anywhere. The demo opens with you already washed up: wet flagstones, broken hull timber, a shoreline that keeps going up into ruins. Cassus Vicus is the tutorial without a tutorial box, and its job is to teach you that the island rewards looking sideways instead of forward.

The first beach holds the things you will spend the rest of the demo hunting: a weapon upgrade resource, a healing elixir, and the throwing dagger belt that washes ashore with the wreckage of your ship. None of it is signposted. You find it because you walked the wrong way first.

What makes the shore worth documenting rather than just describing is how quickly it stops being safe. Two minutes inland the same stonework continues, but the enemies start arriving in pairs, and the stamina bar that felt generous on the beach becomes the whole fight.
